Element – EM952V LED Weapon Light

The Element – EM952v is a working replica of the Surefire M952V Weapon Light. Element has done a nice job in replicating this unit with an all aluminum body and integrated mounting system. Output is around 250 Lumens.

The ring on the lights forward bezel can be rotated into 2 positions. "White" is for normal operation and "IR" is a strobe option. There is no actual IR illumination on this replica. The mount is easily adjustable with a 2mm allen head driver.

There are 2 operating switches on the unit. A on/off end cap and a removable pressure tape switch. The tape switch is also replicated from the Surefire 952 and works spot on with the Magpul Illumination mount kit

EOTech XPS2-0

I recently sold my EOTech 511 and I wasn’t planning on replacing it with another EOTech. The "N" cell batteries were the biggest problem I had with the 511, but I always liked the compact form factor.

But I came across a few under $400.00 deals on the XPS2-0 recently and that combined with an EOTech $50 Rebate, made these an attractive option.

I chose the XPS2-0 due mainly to cost. The 65 MOA ring and 1 MOA dot are the same as my old 511, but the battery life using CR123A batteries will be at least 3x longer then the "N" cell setup. While I was on the fence to get a NV capable XPS3, for the rifle I’ll be putting this on, the XPS2 will be more then sufficient.

EOTech XPS2-0

Specs from EOTech:

• Single transverse 123 battery to reduce sight length
• Shortened base only requires at most 2 3/4 inch?of rail space compared to the 4 inch N battery sights
• Battery cap and latch are eliminated and replaced with a simple O-ring, tethered cap; better sealing is achieved
• Battery compartment is now separated from the base to allow it to hover over the delta ring of the rifle
• Average battery life at brightness level 12 is roughly 600 hours, 3X battery life of N cell sights

The Element – M3X Long Tactical Light comes with:

The Long Switch Assembly Includes a Rotary Switch and female connector for the tape switch. With the Long Assembly attached, you probably cannot use this light on a railed handgun. Element also makes a short tail cap switch for handgun use.

The Rotary Dial has 3 positions: Off, Monetary On and Constant On. In Momentary on, the Tape switch or Tail Cap can be depressed to turn the light on. The dial has a very positive operation. Very easy to operate, even with gloved hands.

This light take 2x CR123 batteries and uses an LED bulb.

Element – AN/PEQ-16A Integrated Pointer/Illuminator Module(IPIM) Laser Device

The Element – AN/PEQ-16A is a multifunction aiming device. This specific PEQ device is not to be used as a LIPO battery case for lack of internal room. All functions are powered by 2x CR123 Batteries. Battery housing has metal threads on the cap. The sticker on the top of the unit shows the batteries go in a certain way, but this is opposite of how they should actually be installed.

The unit has an on/off switch on the top of the unit, and can also be controlled by a tape switch assembly. The selector mode switch on the top of the unit is easy to operate and set in specific modes. Details are very good.

Red laser On.

Blue LED On.

Please note: Element does state that there is an Infrared Illuminator as well. But none of my IR viewing devices could pick up anything from the device when switch was in the IR position.

Freedom Art – Low Mount Base for Tokyo Marui AKS74U

I opted for the Freedom Art – Low Mount Base for Tokyo Marui AKS74U over a traditional AK Side mount solely due to the fact I want to still be able to side fold the stock. This optics mount replaces the complete rear iron sight assembly. It’s a straight forward install using 4 replacement screws and attached directly to the top cover.

Magpul PTS – MBUS

I have been waiting impatiently since Shotshow 2008 for these MBUS (Magpul Back Up Sights).

Magpul’s Propaganda:

The MBUS? (Magpul Back-Up Sight) is the first of its kind: a sight designed to be a low-cost, color injection molded, folding back-up sight.

These are in fact, mostly a polymer build. Only metal parts are the springs, and rail attachment nuts and bolts.

To install, you have to slide the sights onto the rail, then slide the allen bolt through to secure placement on rail. This could be problematic if your setup has something blocking the end access to your rails (i.e. high gas block, rail end caps, etc).

To actuate the sights, simple push down on the Magpul Logos on the top front of each sight, or the side "wings on either side, and the sights spring up into ready mode. To collapse, simple put pressure back then down on each sight.

AMP Tactical – Support Weapon Scope

The AMP Tactical – Support Weapon Scope is modeled after the ELCAN M145 scope. The body is mostly metal, has a rubberized coating and comes with integrated 20mm rail mount.

The AMP version is a 4x magnified scope. Eye relief is OK at about 1.5" x 1.75". Keep this in mind if shooting with goggles or a full face mask. The reticule is small with fine lines, which may also be problematic.
