G&P – AK74 Bakelite 150 Round Magazine

G&P – AK74 Bakelite 150 Round Magazine

The G&P Bakelite (and Plum) AK74 150 Round Midcap Magazines are typical G&P Magazine build. The internal spring is typical G&P weak and does not expel all bb's. The body is mostly plastic and does not fit a stock TM, metal G&P or metal Element AK47 body correctly. The magazine has to literally be forced into latching.

G&P M16 Illuminated Tracer Magazine

The G&P Tracer magazine uses an internal LED to charge light into special tracer BB's. I grabbed a few bags of Excel orange tracers and had an old bag of .12 green tracer rounds. Once you insert the magazine and lock it in the magwell, the LED is on. The longer your wait until you fire, the brighter the bb's will glow. The LED does a suprisingly good job of charging the special bb's with light.

One design flaw is the LED sit's up at the magazines' opening. If you try alternate rounds (i.e 1 tracer bb, 5 reg bbs, 1 tracer bb, 5 reg bbs, etc, etc) the regular bb's will block the LED's light from the rest of the tracer bb's inline in the magazine. It's best to laod the entire magazine with tracer bb's. Fortunatley there is no LED light externally visible when the mag is in place and on.

The unit ships with 3 "N" size batteries but can also be powered by 2 AAA batteries (Not confirmed yet).

The unit is supposed to take 130bbs, but it got difficult to load any more then 115. And.. I'm sad to confirm typical G&P weak spring. left 6-10 bbs in the mag, but no misfeeds.

MAG M4 100 round Midcaps w/HK Markings

HK marked M4 mags??? I think you can guess what my next project is.

MAG M4 100 round Midcaps w/HK Markings

You get 8 mags in the set. Each magazine will carry 97-101 bb's and the spring is very strong compared to the Star 30 round low caps and G&P 130 round mid caps. Each magazine is molded plastic and accordingly very light in weight. The markings are crisp and esy to read.

MAG M249 2500 Rounds Cartridge Pouch (Tan)

I was never 100% satisfied with the CA M249 Box Mag. Mostly because of size and it was hard to shoulder fire/aim with box mag in place. I decided to try the MAG M249 2500 Rounds Cartridge Pouch mostly due to size, and the fact it has a remote switch.

Mag Features:

  • Electric Winding
  • Side zip.
  • 2500 Rds Capacity
  • 100 Rds Style Compact size
  • Remote Switch
  • for TOP and CA M249 Series

MAG M249 2500 Rounds Cartridge Pouch on CA249P

I picked this up from War4 Airsoft and with their typipcal great customer service I had the prodcut in 3 days. This mag is very well built and all feeding components on the mag are black so they disappear when the dummy bullets are added.

Unzip the pouch to access bb door and 9 bolt battery

This unit has a very long internal feed tude so make sure you load a few hundred rounds to prime the mag. Becaue of the "pouch" unlike other box mags the bb's are muffeled when rattled around. No more boxmag maracas! The mag motor has a low droning sound when activited. I setup the remote switch right below the safety so I can thumb activate teh mag motor.

Size Comparison: HighCap 300 rnd, MAG 2500 round Mag/Pouch, CA 2400 RoundM249 BoxMag

This is a great alternative to the CA M249 Box Mag System. it's smaller but rated to carry more bb's. The attachement point on the MAG holds one of the dummy rounds by pressure so it keeps the whole belt tight. Less chance of the belt flying off like in the case of the CA's dummy round "loop"

G&P CA870 22Rds Short Magazine

G&P CA870 22Rds Short Magazine

I've alwyas had a problem with the 44 round stock magazines of teh CA870. Probably due to the fact I've never seen a Remington 870 with a magazine. So when G&P released these low profile mags i had to score a couple.

Only had them a few days, so my report wil be brief.

Pros:

  • Low Profile. Makes your CA870 look more like a Remington 870.
  • Nice job replicating the shell loader trap door.

Cons:

  • Hard to insert. You feel like you have to force it in place. Hopefully as time goes on they will fit more smoothly.
  • Weak return spring. Spring seems to get hung up if you put the full 22 rounds. So far 16-18 rounds have worked the best.

Hero Arms – G3 C-Mag Electric

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Hero Arms
Type: Magazine

As you can seen by my AEG's I do like the G3 family of rifles. So when it was announced on Arnie's that there was a new electric C-mag available, I order one that day from War4 Airsoft, Hong Kong.

Hero Arms – G3 C-Mag Electric Drum Magazine

Since it was such a new release there was about a 4 day shipping delay from War4, that they said was Hero Arm's delay. I did end up getting the mag as promised though.

Hero Arms – G3 C-Mag Electric Drum Magazine

From the pictures I had seen I knew that this C-Mag was a much better desing then the Mosquito Molds MOSMAG for the G3 I picked up about a year ago. And I was not disappointed at all opening the Hero Arms box. Great build quality and very nice C-Mag Replica.

Operation wise it's pretty straight forward. But the motor is about 3 times louder then and of my mechboxes or my DTP Electric C-Mag for my M4's (The DTP C-mag uses a r/c sevo motor. Will find out more on the Hero version).

The detachable remote switch is a nice feature unless it somehow gets lost in the field.

I got an email from a user on Arnie's asking where the batteries go. When I recieved mine the battteries we already installed but I'll post anyway.

You need to remove 3 phillips head screws from the center harness and 2 allen screw on the left side plate to have access to the battery compartment. The large phillips head in the center of the left plate is NOT A REAL SCREW 😉

Mosquito Molds – G3 CMag Drum Magazine

The Mosquito Molds – G3/MC51 CMag Drum Magazine, is a manual winding, 3000 round capacity mag. It uses a Tokyo Marui G3 Highcap to "power the unit" but you still need to wind the mag occasionally to prime more bb's. It's mostly hard plastic construction does make the unit rather noisy when running around with a partial fill of bb's though.

There are small airsoft shops in Japan putting in electric motors on these mags like Echigoya.

First Factory G36c Box Magazine (Dummy Ammo not Included Wink)

First Factory – G36 Box Magazine

The First Factory – G36 Box Magazine is a very well desinged box/drum magazine used for the G36 family of AEGs. This mag is manual winding adn has a 5000 round capacity. Unlike other drum mags that are made of metal or hard plastic, this mag is made out of a thicker platic/resin type material which helps dampen the bb "rattle" effect found with all high cap type mags.

First Factory – G36 SAW Wink

The design of this box mag follows the profile of a normal G36 mag and when installed is about the width of 3 mags clipped together. It is a unique type of box mag in that it holds 2500 or so rounds in a live primeable are and the other 2500 sit in a resevior for storage.

First Factory – G36 SAW Other Side

When I purchased my Box Mag, I also needed to get a TM G36c High Cap mag to use as its' internals. It's a very easy install. Simply unclip the internals from the TM Box Mag and slide them into the FF Box Mag. No other modifications are needed.

First Factory – G36 Box Magazine – Instructions

I wanted to post the pics of the instructions from the box to better show how the resevoir system works. It's very simple in design and will lend to being a very dependable. Note that even when the mag is fully loaded there is a void that I thik can be used to house a motor and small battery. If i get some time I'm going ot try and install a motor in this unit. Will keep you posted here.
