Retailer – DragonRed Airsoft – USA/China

{simplegrade:4}
DragonRed Airsoft
USA/China

Decided to give DragonRed Airsoft a shot. They advertise A.C.M. (All China Made) products, but with Local US Stocking/Shipping. But as I found out when I purchased they have a mix of what’s stocked in the U.S. and what ships fm China. In my case the product shipped direct from China.

The DR website is pretty bad in it’s build. Some products will actually go into their shopping cart, some go direct to Google or Paypal checkout. If they go direct to Google or Paypal checkout, those products are probably going to ship direct from China. If the item goes direct to google or paypal checkout look at the shipping price. If it seems high (i.e. $20 shipping on a $49.99 metal body) then it’s probably shipping direct form china. When they ship from China add a day to what you would expect Hong Kong shipping to be.

I ordered some parts on Wed’s early afternoon, and paypal’d immediately. Got a quick reply back from Charles as DR that the order would ship form China Wed evening our time. While a little skeptical it was nice to get such a fast response. 10pm Wed eve my time I get an email with tracking number that items shipped. Saturday items arrived! (It’s nice how EMS and USPS work together and do Sat deliveries w/ no extra charge)

1 of the items I ordered was a newer generation $49.99 metal armalite body. The 1st gens were manufactured by D-Boys and as I posted before, there were tolerance/fitting probs. A new company, Sabre is supposedly using new die cast molds and is who is manufacturing these newer generation of cheap bodies. Hope to have time to install soon. I’ll be installing on a TM M4 New Type.

So even though their websites on the crappy side in function, the customer service is top notch right now and the product mix is defiantly interesting.

The VLTOR Body Pics:

For a $69.99 ($49.99 + $20 int’l shipping) it’s not a bad deal. Qualtiy wise the body was OK. Trademarks are laser etched paint, so at some point they will rub off. These bodies seem to be G&G copies and they are pretty good spec wise. This is a "slide on" body and does not use the rear body tabs. Only problem so far is the fake bolt catches on the body. Should be an easy fix though.

Body kit includes:

  • Upper and Lower Metal Body
  • Charging handle w/ return spring
  • Ejection Port Door Mechanism
  • Magazine Release Mechanism
  • Body Pins
  • Selector Switch

Does NOT include:

  • Hop-Up unit
  • Fake Bolt

You will need to get a upgrded hopup unit tht has an attached hopup feeder. I have the Systema which works fine.

Retailer – PointAct – USA

{simplegrade:5}
PointAct
USA

PointAct sells the bargain ACM (All Chna Made) products you can also find at Gunner and RSOV in Hong Kong. But PointAct is located in the U.S. in Utah. They are a few weeks behind the ACM Hong Kong Retailers in getting stock, but their fair domestic U.S. shipping prices and the fact their prices aren’t that much higher then what you see from Hong Kong make it worth the wait.? ?(Shipping from HK on an AEG = $80-$100.? Domestic Ground Shipping from PointAct. for an AEG = $12-$20)

Reliabilty wise, if the prodcuts in stock, for all my orders, they shipped the day after order is placed. If you pre-order a product, they have great communication and keep you informed of status until the product ships.

And if you can qualify for dealer pricing, it’s aggresively lower:

Examples:

Galaxy MP5k
Regular = $80.00
Dealer = $65.00

A&K M249
Regular = $360.00
Dealer = $300.00

Aimpoint – Killflash Filter

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Aimpoint (USA)
Type: Killflash Filter

Aimpoint – Killflash Filter

The Aimpoint – Killflash Filter, is an Anti Reflection Device. This attaches to real Aipoints adn with some work can be made to attach to a clone Aimpoint Optic. It is a very low profile add-on, but works well.

Trigger Happy – EBR CQB Kit

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Trigger Happy (Korea)
Type: Stock Conversion

Trigger Happy – EBR CQB Kit on a TM M14 SOCOM

The Trigger Happy EBR CQB Conversion uses an M4 style buttstock over the Sage style buttstock. Since the intial release of the Trigger Happy EBR, GLock 17 Slide Sets and SF Silencer, I have been very impressed with the build quality of all their products to date.

The advantage of using an M4 style buttstock is you can use a battery capable butt stock. The EBR Conversion is already set to be rear wired, with holes and wiring pass throughs already ready for use.

Trigger Happy – EBR CQB Kit.

I set this 1 up with a G&P crane stock. Helps keep the EBR from getting front heavy.

It was an easy installation like the first Trigger Happy EBR version. If you choose to rear wire it even an easier install since you only need to make 1 wire extension and use existing connectors..

Classic Army – Killflash, Aluminium Honeycomb Filter

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: Classic Army (Hong Kong)
Type: Killflash, Aluminium Honeycomb Filter

Classic Army – Killflash, Aluminium Honeycomb Filter

The Classic Army – Killflash, Aluminium Honeycomb Filter, is CA's version of the Aimpoint Kill Flash Anti Reflection Device. The CA version is much longer and should attach to any aimpoint clone. I've attached it to King Arms, Guarder, AMP Tactical and G&P Aimpoint copies.

Installation requires the removal of a threaded retention ring on the optic itself. The this untit simply screws on.

Guarder – Rifle Rack for Long Arms 2007 Version

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: Guarder (Taiwan)
Type: Rifle Rack for Long Arms 2007 Version

Guarder – Rifle Rack for Long Arms 2007 Version

The Guarder Rifle Rack for Long Arms, 2007 Version, holds 6 Long Arms vertically. I chose this over locally built rifle racks due to its' simplicity and the deal I was able to get locally.

Guarder – Rifle Rack – Loaded

Evike imported these and put them on sale for $99.00. You get free ground shipping for orders over $100.00, so this became an easy decision for me. Most vertical rifle racks built and sold in the U.S. will cost you $90.00 + $35.00 for ground shipping. But on my specific order, Evike did not actually have any of these new in stock. But they did have a used, floor model that was slightly dented and they sold it to me for $85.00 plus free shipping.

Tokyo Marui – VZ61 Skorpion

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: Tokyo Marui (Japan)
Type: AEP

Tokyo Marui – VZ61 Skorpion

This AEP caught my eye mainly for the fact it has an all metal lower receiver. Upon closer inspection, the workmanship of this small SMG is highly detailed. This gun uses a lower voltage 7.2 volt battery pack, but surprisingly it's performance is impressive for it's battery voltage.

Tokyo Marui – VZ61 Skorpion

The battery pack is easily accessible through the bottom of the pistol grip an includes a battery ejection handle. Another nice functional design addition. And for an AEP the fps performance is pretty impressive.

G&P – Angled QD Mount

{simplegrade:3}
Manufacturer: G&P ( Hong Kong)

G&P – Angled QD Mount

The G&P – Angled QD Mount is an all metal built, raile mount with a 45 degree angled rail. It's perfect for lights/lasers if you want an offset mount. I wouldn't suggest putting any sort of load on the rail though like a vertical grip or grenade launcher.

King Arms – 68 Round Magazines. Tan

{simplegrade:3}
Manufacturer: King Arms ( Hong Kong)

King Arms – 68 Round Magazines, Metal. Tan. Close color match to the CA SCAR's Tan on right.

I got the King Arms – 68 Round Magazines, for the reason the color closely matches the CA SCAR's magazine. I was pleasantly surprised these are metal and have adequately strong springs and long followers. There is a fitting problem on the CA SCAR though. The upper part of the magazine catch hole needs to be filed slightly for it to stay in place. These magazines also had a fitting issue in my G36 with PPA Magazine Adapter. But fit snugly in my M4 S-System, M4 R.I.S., Type 89, etc.
