High Speed Gear – Drop Leg Rig

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: HSGI
Type: Leg Rig – Holster Setup

This is a custom "piece together" by me. But the main product here is the High Speed Gear (HSGI) Modular Drop Leg Panel. HSGI are the same peeps that bring you the Wasatch and Weesatch Plate Carrier Vest systems.

HSGI, Drop Leg Module, BHI Modular Holster, Specter Single Stack Mag Pouch, Eagle Buty Belt, Gemtech TRL, WA MARSOC

The Modular Leg Panel has a "bungie" system that keeps the thigh strap snug to you leg. Theres also a pass through area on the main veritical thigh strap that will accomodate a bayonet attachment.

Build quality is great and loaded up, the panel distributes the weight evenly and holds items close to your leg even while running.

I'm lucky to live near the Oakley factory and get to go to theri bi-annual parking lot sale. I always thought it was great that a company like Oakley would design some of their product specifically for Military use.

Oakley Military Goggles

These are the Oakley Military Goggles. These are the SI e-Frame Black with Grey Lens. The come with an easily adjustable strap system, but th straps are sewn in place, so fitting these to a helmet or goggle cover may not work.

Konami, Combat DigiQ, Micro R/C Tanks

Combat DigiQ, Micro R/C Tanks
Manufacturer: Konami
MSRP: $199.00 (For 2 tanks and controller set)
Actualy price paid: $132.00 (including shipping from Hong Kong)

w00t! They came in!!!

I bought 2 of these tanks from a guy in Hong Kong via Ebay. I haven\'t seen these available in the U.S. yet. They are very detailed (i.e. camoflague, exhaust and blast marks already painted) and there are some pieces like the machine gun and spotlight that have to be glued on. These are infrared controlled and also shoot infrared from the turret. I have yet to decipher the manuals that are in Japanese yet, but they are a blast to drive. When you shoot, they even move back to simulate recoil. They have 3 game modes (see below) which I\'m still working on figuring out. I purchased 1 of each, German Panther-G type & Russian T34/85 tank.

I will add more pictures and video of these tanks in action soon.

German Panther-G type

Russian T34/85

Introduction: KONAMI has pushed its patented Micro IR technology to a new limit. Introducing miniature yet realistic Micro IR-powered miniature combat tanks. With a real track type propulsion system, these tanks can climb slight slopes and other small objects. You may fire IR beams at your opponent's tank in order to defeat him. The cannon on the Combat Digi Q will perform a gun kickback every time you fire in order to simulate a real cannon!

German Panther-G type & Russian T34/85 type basic operation sets will be launched in September, 2002. Followed by Tiger I type & M4 Shaman basic operation sets in December, 2002. Future line-up includes Ground Self-Defense Force 90 type and 74 type tanks. Other accessories will also be available.

Rule of Game: Combat Digi Q has two sensors: One for firing infrared beam and another for controlling the tank\'s movement (like the single one on Digi Q car). A 10-minute charge gives a 10-minute game play.
There are 3 play modes:

Practice mode: You can shoot as many explosive shells as you wish

Expert mode: Depending on your tank model, the number of explosive shell is regulated

Real mode: Depending on your tank model and nature, each tank has its own ability to shoot, move and explosive shell capacity (eg: some models can have 8 explosive shells while the other model only 6). Once you get hit five times, you are defeated. Up to four tanks can be controlled simultaneously.

The controller indicates how many explosive shells you have currently. It also has 4 buttons on the underside to shoot out explosive shells.

A battle is carried out by 2 players or 2 groups of players. There is a ID system just like that of the Digi Q (1, 2, 3, 4). 1 & 3 are in one group. So are 2 & 4. So, 1 can fight anyone but itself and its teammate 3. Same goes for the other group.

Tippmann A-5, Upgraded

Tippmann A-5
Manufacturer: Tippmann
Type: Paintball Gun, C02 Operated

Tippmann A-5 Modified (See Below)

Well the combination of peer pressure and the fact I came across a .68 caliber, somewhat military looking paintball gun, started me down this Evil or Very Mad path.

This Started as a stock Tippmann A-5 (Reminded me of an HK MP5K a bit) and I added the following:

  • Tippmann A-5 Response Trigger System (Will shoot in full auto)
  • Tippmann A-5 Flatline Barell System (The closest thing to Hop Up in the Paintball world. Meaning the paintabll will fly straighter longer "Tippmann claims a 100 feet more"
  • Tippmann A-5 CAR Stock (Same as my M4's)
  • Guarder Red Dot Scope w/ Norninco 3/8 Mount (You had to know I'd add some airsoft accessories)
  • 32 Degrees Coiled Remote

That's it so far. Will keep ya posted on how bad this hobby gets… Evil or Very Mad

Lupin III – Fujiko – Pachinko Machine

We still needed to find something fun to do at work… Well here's what we came up with . . .

Lupin III – Fujiko – Pachinko Machine !!!

The anime series Lupin III is one of my favorites and the heroine of the series Fujiko is jsut bad ass… So even though this machine is big and pink, the graphics in the play area and the video game aimations make up for it.

Gameplay

You need to fire the balls in a certain way to make them land in jackpot catcher. When you ball lands there it spins the slot machine wheels and rewards you with 5-10 more balls.

If you match 2 outta 3 image in the slot machine, various animation play to try to match the 3rd image. While the animations play the more balls you put in the jackpot catcher the greater the chance you will get the matching image, or be rewarded a 2nd chance for the 3rd image.

And if you get the 3rd matching image.. Jackpot. the slot spins again to tell you how many balls you won and balls start paying out. But you wanna keep shooting them into the jackpot catcher to advance the jackpot animations (or rounds as they call them). There are 2-3 sequences per each round and some of them are R rated Wink If you can complete viewing all the rounds…the machine goes into a different mode of play (I haven't beaten that mode yet, but will post inof if I do)

If you can complete viewing all the rounds…the machine goes into a different mode of play (I haven't beaten that mode yet, but will post info if I do)

SMG and Machine Gun Rentals!

Where: The Gun Store, Las Vegas NV http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/
How Much: SMG regular price is $40, including range fee & 50 rounds. M16, M249 or AK regular price is $25, including range fee and 25 rounds

So me being a Kalifornia resident means there's not alot of places to shoot Rifles and SMGs and 0 places that will let you rent them in full auto. But I found this range in Las Vegas NV a few years ago and it's a blast! (No pun intended…)

They just recently set it up to shoot Assault Rifles at their indoor range by using frangible ammo. Basically that means a rifle rounds not gonna bouce back and kill you when fired in an indoor range. Here's a list of the guns you can rent in full auto:

  • Colt M16 Carbine .223
  • M249 Minimi .223
  • AK47 Assault Rifle .223
  • H&K MP5 SMG 9mm
  • Colt M16 SMG 9mm
  • UZI SMG 9mm
  • Thompson M1A1 SMG .45
  • STEN MKII SMG 9mm
  • Madsen M50 SMG 9mm (suppressed)
  • MP40 "Schmeisser" SMG 9mm
  • Stemple "K" SMG 9mm
  • M3A1 "Grease Gun" SMG .45

The catch with this place is since yoru firing full auto, you tend to buy alot of their ammo. So the base price is pretty affordable but when you add the extra bags of ammo it adds up if your not careful.

Is it worth the money? Yes, if you live in CA and will be in Las Vegas. I have yet to find a range like this in closer proximity.

Pics and movies to be posted later.
