ESS, a long time manufacturer of tactical eye protection for the Mil/LE/Govt markets, has made a goggle just for the airsoft market. There are 2 parts to this goggle:

  1. The Cortex Clip – The Cortex clip attaches to any ESS Profile (NVG and Turbo Fan) series Goggle.
  2. ESS Profile NVG or Profile Turbo Fan goggle.

So, yes… The nose protector I still need to get used to visually but it does add obvious protection. The Cortex Clip is a made of a rigid type of plastic.

The ESS Profile Goggles themselves are built for ventilation. But as with all Goggles, in the right situation, it can fog. Will have field details of this product in a couple of weeks.

The Cortex Clip can be completely removed from the Profile goggles, but the Cortex Clip adds specific side entry protection from aisoft bb’s.

This simple looking nub of plastic, is a pretty amazing little product for owners of the Tokyo Marui SOPMOD or SOCOM. This device allows for the use of the plentiful and easy to acquire older M4/M16 AEG magazines.

As this devices looks simple, the installation is extremely simple as well. This device just pressure fits onto the existing magazine nozzle. A small internal o-ring "locks" the device in place. "Bolt Lock Back on Empty Magazine" does not functions when Mag Pipe is installed. While I own enough SOPMOD magazines, this little device could come in handy.

I tested this device with a bunch of magazines I own. Worked flawlessly on every magazine except the Type 89 version as expected. S.Arms had some physical fitting issues, but worked when inserted properly.

This is another well designed replica by King Arms. All metal and built to high tolerances. This is the mid length rail system and has a built in folding front sight.

This rail system is for my TM M4 SOCOM with the new recoil system.

I opted for the Freedom Art – Low Mount Base for Tokyo Marui AKS74U over a traditional AK Side mount solely due to the fact I want to still be able to side fold the stock. This optics mount replaces the complete rear iron sight assembly. It’s a straight forward install using 4 replacement screws and attached directly to the top cover.

This is a replica of the USMC FROG (Flame Resistant Organizational Gear) Shirt by Ebaybanned. It is NOT flame resitant like it real counterpart. The EBB replica is well built, but runs on the small side of each respective size (Medium and Large are teh only sizes available). The desert MARPAT material matches closely with authentic MARPAT.

Oakley – Sabot Low (Black)

The Oakley Sabot line of footwear is a new line that looks to be replacing Tactical Six lineup. The Sabot line uses less leather and suede than the Oakley’s S.I. (Standard Issue) Military Line, and is much cooler. They utilize a moisture wicking lining, much like the Oakley Basic Training line. They are extremely comfortable for all day wear, but you can feel the build difference between these and the S.I. Military Line.

Unfortunately the edges of the leather started turning white after about 1 week of wearing. Would not recommend this specific Oakleys due to that.

I have been waiting impatiently since Shotshow 2008 for these MBUS (Magpul Back Up Sights).

Magpul’s Propaganda:

The MBUS? (Magpul Back-Up Sight) is the first of its kind: a sight designed to be a low-cost, color injection molded, folding back-up sight.

These are in fact, mostly a polymer build. Only metal parts are the springs, and rail attachment nuts and bolts.

To install, you have to slide the sights onto the rail, then slide the allen bolt through to secure placement on rail. This could be problematic if your setup has something blocking the end access to your rails (i.e. high gas block, rail end caps, etc).

To actuate the sights, simple push down on the Magpul Logos on the top front of each sight, or the side "wings on either side, and the sights spring up into ready mode. To collapse, simple put pressure back then down on each sight.

The rear sight comes with 2 apertures which is similar to the apertures on a standard AR15.

AMP Tactical – Support Weapon Scope

The AMP Tactical – Support Weapon Scope is modeled after the ELCAN M145 scope. The body is mostly metal, has a rubberized coating and comes with integrated 20mm rail mount.


AMP Tactical – Support Weapon Scope

The AMP version is a 4x magnified scope. Eye relief is OK at about 1.5" x 1.75". Keep this in mind if shooting with goggles or a full face mask. The reticule is small with fine lines, which may also be problematic.

MOE? is Magpul?s newest line of firearm accessories. Intended to be a low-cost, high-quality alternative to standard weapon components, MOE? will be offered to manufacturers as OEM equipment, and to individuals seeking Magpul quality in their basic equipment upgrades. The MOE? line distinguishes itself with a simplified feature set, but maintains Magpul engineering and material quality.


Magpul PTS – MOE Handguard

The MOE Handguard is a direct replacement to carbine length AR plastic handguard. The Magpul PTS version is almost an exact replica of the Magpul MOE Handguard, except it’s marked PTS instead of MOE. The handguard can carry a battery and at this time, easily fits a 9.6v VLTOR Stock type, nunchuck battery. it’s a very easy swap out from the standard carbine handguards and a good way to affordably dress up a stock carbine length AR.

The optional rail kit for the MOE handguard, come with all hardware needed for rail attachment. Rails can by attached to any of the handguard vents, in multiple positions. The MOE Handguard itself is made form a thick rigid polymer and give a good foundation to all rail attachment points.
