G&G Mustang – MICH Helmet

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: G&G (Taiwan)
Type: Gear

G&G Mustang – MICH Helmet

I seem to collect military helmets and this is my latest. The G&G Mustang – MICH Helmet. The MICH helmet is the latest "Special Forces" version of the PASGT helmet used by the Army. It's simular in shape to the PASGT, but does not have a bill or lip on the front of the helmet. The MICH also utilizes a paratrooper style chin strap or 4 point restraint system.

So how does this replica fare? Well the material used on this helmet is NOT Kevlar, but it has the same thickness of a real Kevlar helmet with about 1/2 the weight. But don't let that statement mislead you, it has a very robust, weighty build. the internal padding system is very adjustable and the padding absobs energy well. The 4 point chinstrap does a great job of pulling the helmet tightly but comfortably to your head, so running around is no problem.

G&G Mustang – MICH Helmet + Accessories

I've added the following:

  • Paulson ATAC "Frag" Goggles
  • MICH 3 Color Desert Helmet Cover
  • Eagle Goggle Cover

Mosquito Molds – G3 CMag Drum Magazine

{simplegrade:2}
Manufacturer: Mosquito Molds (Japan)
Type: Magazine

Mosquito Molds – G3 CMag Drum Magazine

The Mosquito Molds – G3/MC51 CMag Drum Magazine, is a manual winding, 3000 round capacity mag. It uses a Tokyo Marui G3 Highcap to "power the unit" but you still need to wind the mag occasionally to prime more bb's. It's mostly hard plastic construction does make the unit rather noisy when running around with a partial fill of bb's though.

There are small airsoft shops in Japan putting in electric motors on these mags like Echigoya.

Type: Magazine

First Factory G36c Box Magazine (Dummy Ammo not Included Wink)

First Factory – G36 Box Magazine

The First Factory – G36 Box Magazine is a very well desinged box/drum magazine used for the G36 family of AEGs. This mag is manual winding adn has a 5000 round capacity. Unlike other drum mags that are made of metal or hard plastic, this mag is made out of a thicker platic/resin type material which helps dampen the bb "rattle" effect found with all high cap type mags.

First Factory – G36 SAW Wink

The design of this box mag follows the profile of a normal G36 mag and when installed is about the width of 3 mags clipped together. It is a unique type of box mag in that it holds 2500 or so rounds in a live primeable are and the other 2500 sit in a resevior for storage.

First Factory – G36 SAW Other Side

When I purchased my Box Mag, I also needed to get a TM G36c High Cap mag to use as its' internals. It's a very easy install. Simply unclip the internals from the TM Box Mag and slide them into the FF Box Mag. No other modifications are needed.

First Factory – G36 Box Magazine – Instructions

I wanted to post the pics of the instructions from the box to better show how the resevoir system works. It's very simple in design and will lend to being a very dependable. Note that even when the mag is fully loaded there is a void that I thik can be used to house a motor and small battery. If i get some time I'm going ot try and install a motor in this unit. Will keep you posted here.

G&P – Ready Mag System (Battery Pack)

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: G&P

G&P Ready Mag System

This was my first attempt to add a larger battery to my M4 R.I.S. It's an all metal build and utilizes the stock mag release to release the mag in the ready mag. It also comes with 2 rubber sleeves to protect the M4 body when attached.

G&P Ready Mag System Mounted

To make it work as a external battery holder, I needed to first drill a hole in the inside, top of the ready mag system. I then created a mini battery extension cable with 1 connector inside the ready mag and 1 outside ready to connect to the stock battery connector. I simply removed the inner workings of a stock M4 Magazine to hold a larger capacity battery. To keep the battery/mag from releasing when an actual mag is released, I put i layer of duct tape on the outside of the battery/may to hold it in place with friction. This worked well and kept the functions of the ready mag in tact.

The down side of the ready mag system for me is when I added a Sun Project M203. There was not enough clearence from the front of the magwell to accomodate the proper alignment of the entire M203.

ICS – AN/PEQ with Laser (Battery Pack)

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: ICS (Taiwan)

This was my 2nd attempt to use a larger battery on my M4 R.I.S. This unit is mostly plastic and had the ICS Laser and remote pressure switch attached. I added a GRS 9.6v 1700Mah battery to the setup and it did the job of adding a larger capacuty battery and accomodate my M203.

M4 with ICS AN/PEQ Installed

This battery box is about 3 times wider then the stock M4 R.I.S. battery pack and does add alot more weight to the front of the gun (Not good for my setup with an M203 already on there. ICS built this mostly out of plastic which includes the RIS attachment part which may end up cracking if torqued down too much. The laser worked as advertised, I just never used the laser in a skirmish. It was a little tough to get it aligned but I eventually was able to.

Overall it does its' job adding a larger battery to an M4 with collapsible stock. But the laser isn't really needed cept to show off to friends.

Converse – Tactical Boots, Desert

{simplegrade:3}
Converse – Tactical Boot Desert w/Safety Toe

Converse – Tactical Boots Desert

At half the price of Oakley Tactical Boots and even cheaper then military favorites like Danner, this is a great tactical boot for the price. They even say Allstar on the tongue just like the good ol' Chuck Taylor series. Extremely comfortable boot in the foot area. They are taller then Oakley boots so your lower leg need to get used to them. But after breaking them in, they feel great.

Catalog Pic – Much Better lighting Wink

This boot features:

  • Converse athletic shoe comfort in a lightweight tactical boot.
  • Side zip.
  • Composite Safety Toe which exceeds A.N.S.I. Z41 specifications.
  • Converse Foot Force F2 Removable Insole System.
  • Dual Density shock absorbing cushions in both the heel and the ball of the foot increase comfort and reduce foot strain.

  • High abrasion "Sure Grip Plus" outsole for long life and better traction.

Pelican – #1600 Case

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Pelican Case (USA)

Pelican – #1600 Case – Carries 9 handguns

With the amount of airsoft I own and the fact I usually only worry about my long arms when it comes to carry bags/cases, it was about time to concentrate on my growing handgun collection.

After searching for 6-8 pistol, ready made cases and not finding anything that suited my needs, I came across the Pelican Line of cases. I was initially more impressed by the cases they customize for long arms, but I found a neat solution for my handguns from this site: CPD

So after mulling around the site and drooling at their solutions for long arms, I settled on the #1600 with "Pick and Pluck" foam system, so I can customize the fit for my guns.

Pelican – #1600 Case – All 9 handguns… Problem is I got more then 9…

My goal was to get something a bit more transportable then carrying multiple pistol cases, with something that can easily be modified later if my mix of guns changes or I decide to use this for case something else.

With all 9 guns and related accessories fitted within the case it weighs over 40lbs, but the heavy duty build of the Pelican can take the load with no problem.

To customize the foam inserts with the "Pick and Pluck" foam system was easy. The hard part was deciding how to arrange the guns, for a maximum number of them to fit and still make sure the foam config would be secure enough. The nice thing is if i choose to use this case later for something different, I can always get replacement "Pick and Pluck" foam.

Downside is the case is a bit expensive, but the fact it secures and makes 9 handguns easily transportable is great. Just for the purpose of gun storage it's great
