Pelican – #1720 Weapons Case

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Pelican Case (USA)

Pelican – #1720 Case – Wheeled Long Gun Case, Desert Tan

After my first Pelican #1600 Handgun Case I was definitely hooked on the Pelican brand and quality of work. I decided to get this #1720 case to carry multiple long arms. I was even happier to find out they now make these in OD and Desert Tan.

Pelican – #1720 Case – Backside

The cases specifications as follows:

  • Interior Dimensions: 42.00" x 13.50" x 5.25" (106.6 x 34.3 x 13.3 cm)
  • Watertight, crushproof, and dust proof
  • Easy open Double Throw latches
  • Open cell core with solid wall design – strong, light weight
  • O-ring seal
  • Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve
  • Fold down handles
  • Strong polyurethane wheels with stainless steel bearings
  • Stainless steel hardware and padlock protectors
  • Pick and Pluck Foam Inserts

Pelican – #1720 Case – Polyurethane Wheels w/ Stainless Bearings

This generation of Pelican cases has a newer double throw, heavy duty latch system. Easy to open and close compared to my older #1600. The Desert Tan is darker and more drab then a traditional tan.

Pelican – #1720 Case – TM Type 89, TM M4 S-System and Accessories easily all fit.

At this point I'm still debating which mix of AEG's will use this case. But the case came supplied with Pick and Pluck foam, so creating custom cutouts for the weapons and accessories is very easy. Will post more pics as the decision gets finalized.

Like with the Pelican #1600, this case is on the expensive side, but quality and protection wise it's a good choice for my weapons.

?This case(s) will also come in handy on my Japan trip next month and in October 😉

Tactical Tailor – Cell Phone Pouch, MC

Scored this "ultra custom" Tactical Tailor cell phone pouch!

Tactical Tailor – Cell Phone Pouch, MC

Perfect fit for my Motorola Krzr. E815 and some of the other similar sized phones will also work.

Tactical Tailor – Cell Phone Pouch, MC

MOLLE/PALs style straps in back give many options to attach the pouch system. On mine I used a Ripoffs brand belt clip.

Tactical Tailor – Cell Phone Pouch, MC

APRIL FOOLS! Nothing custom about this. This is just a Tactical Tailor knife pouch in Multicam 😉 I just got lucky that my KRZR fit so well in it. The KRZR also fits well in single stack pistol mag pouches like the Spectre Eagle and ESStac version 😉

Classic Army – SCAR-L

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: Classic Army (Hong Kong)
Type: AEG
Date Aquired: 03/2007

Classic Army's first "original" AEG build. While it is internally based on the M15, many improvments have been made to make the SCAR-L an airsoftreality. What was most impressive to me is how CA brought this to market w/o the fanfare and hype of other manufacturers, who stil have yet to deliver on their promises.

Latest Add-Ons

There is already a very detailed review of the CA SCAR-L by AEX located here (Thar be an ORCA easter egg on that page ;). I will try and focus on what wasn't covered in their review.

Classic Army – SCAR-L

Features:

  • Unique Serial Number
  • Metal Charging Handle
  • 7mm Metal Bearing Gear Box
  • Hi-Cap Magazine (300 Rd)
  • Metal Flip up Front & Rear Sight
  • CNC made Metal Upper Receiver
  • Up to 9.6V Mini Type Battery can be used
  • Fiber Lower Receiver & Retractable Folding Stock
  • Magazine Released Catch can function in both sides of receiver
  • Bearing Spring Guide, Bearing Piston Head, Sealed Nozzle & Cylinder
  • Motor without screw type

Starting to like the Tan/Sand/Desert Furniture now ;P Color Comparisons.

The machined upper is very nice and doing the battery butt stock modification from the AEX Review makes battery change very easy. This is a very skirmishable gun out fo the box with a few easy modifications.

Tactical Tailor – Modular Holster – Multicam

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Tactical Tailor (USA)
Type: Holster

Tactical Tailor – Modular Holster – Multicam

I purchased the Tactical Tailor – 1911 Modular Holster – Multicam for my real 1911's, but I had to check out how the airsoft 1911's worked as well ;). The holster is fabric wrapped around kydex to help keep the holsters shape and rigidity. It is very simple in design, but has worked out well so far. This carries single stack and dual stack 1911's no problem, but doesn't like wide under rails.

Comes with 2 Long MALICE Clips. Shown above mounted on a TT – Modular Padded Belt.

Tactical Tailor – 90 Degree Modular Panel

Manufacturer: Tactical Tailor (USA)
Type: Modular Accessory

Tactical Tailor90 Degree Modular Panel

The Tactical Tailor – 90 Degree Modular Panel is a simple, well built modular attachment adapter. I got this so I could back mount my sidearm horizontally on a vest or modular belt.

Tactical Tailor – 90 Degree Modular Panel

Simple in design, but creates alot of pouch/holster mounting options. The panel comes with 2 short and 2 long MALICE Clips.

Tactical Tailor – Modular Padded Belt -Tan

Manufacturer: Tactical Tailor (USA)
Type: Belt

Tactical Tailor – Modular Padded Belt – Tan

I got the Tactical Tailor – Modular Padded Belt to use with my real firearms. While leg holsters look "cool", while I'm at the indoor range, I'd personally rather have my firearm kept close to my side and above my hip (Also saves from banging the firearm on the lane tables). I shopped around on traditional belted holsters, but when I saw TT made a Modular Padded Belt, which could use my existing Molle holsters, that was a winner!

At this time it's loaded with a TT Triple Mag Pouch System, TT Dump Pouch and TT Modular Holster.

Tactical Tailor – Triple Pistol Mag Pouch, Multicam

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Tactical Tailor (USA)
Type: Magazine Pouch

Tactical Tailor – Triple Pistol Mag Pouch, Multicam

I've had a few different brands of pistol mag pouches, Spectre, BHI, HSGI. I decided to look for a Multicam, multiple pouch system this time. I decided to try the Tactical Tailor magazine pouch system. These specific pouches come with a Kydex (thermoplastic acrylic-polyvinyl chloride) inserts which basically lock in most size magazines into the pouch. This mean you can use the pouches with or without the outer flaps, but the mag will stay securely in the pouch until pulled out.

Tactical Tailor – Triple Pistol Mag Pouch, Multiple size mags no problem. left to right: WA Single Stack, TM Hi-Capa, KSC USP45.

These pouches come with MOLLE style webbing on the rear and include 2?MALICE clips for attachment.

Tactical Tailor – Modular 7.62/.308 Double Mag Pouch – Multicam

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Tactical Tailor (USA)
Type: Magazine Pouch

Tactical Tailor – Modular 7.62/.308 Double Mag Pouch – Multicam

I purchased the Tactical Tailor – Modular 7.62/.308 Double Mag Pouch to carry my M14, G3 and G36 magazines. This will cary 2, 308 sized magazines and with enough room to accommodate magpuls.

Tactical Tailor – Modular 7.62/.308 Double Mag Pouch – Multicam

This pouch features a lateral cinch bungie, which can helps to tighten the pouch for noise reduction, or let's you carry the mags half exposed for easy access. The pouch comes with2 long MALICE Clips.

Tokyo Marui – AK47 – AK74 SOPMOD

{simplegrade:5}
Manufacturer: Tokyo Marui (Japan)
Type: AEG
Date Acquired: 03/2007

Update – 02/2008!

Tokyo Marui – AK47 – AK74 SOPMOD

Since I love my other AK SOPMOD so much, I decided to convert my already modded AK/AKM to an AK74 SOPMOD. This replaced alot of crappy ACM parts and furniture I had previously installed, but as always, the TM Internals have been working reliably. New build added the following accessories:

  • King Arms – X-47 Rail System
  • King Arms – AK74 Metal Body Set (Includes, Metal Body, Pistol Grip and Ribbed Top Cover)
  • Classic Army – SLR105 Compact – Front Assembly
  • Classic Army – Krink Flash Hider
  • ACM – VLTOR AK Stock Tube
  • MAG – AK74 Midcap Magazines
  • Systema M120 Spring

I had to have the stock tabs cut off the AK74 metal body, to accommodate the VLTOR AK Stock Tube. It fit together well. Other then that, all other parts bolted on w/o having to make any adjustments.

Tokyo Marui – AK47 – AK74 SOPMOD

I did buy an Element made AK SOPMOD Kit which included Tactical Trigger Guard/Mag Release, Upswept Bolt Handle and Selector. This will no be 2 out of 2 Element products that are complete garbage (The first was an Element AK74 metal body). The Element AK SOPMOD Kit will not fit on a King Arms AK74 Metal body w/o modifications, so remembering the frustration I had with the first Element product I had. I gave up easily on this1 and will not add it.

Tokyo Marui – AK47 – AKM Mod

The Tokyo Marui AK47 is one of TM's most successful lines as far as durability, and stock fps and accuracy. The are also relatively simple to work on and tons of upgrades exist.

This is the AKM conversion I'm working on. The following parts added so far.

  • Bomber AK74 Real Wood Stock Set
  • CAW GP-15 Grenade Launcher
  • G&P Slant Break
  • Element Ribbed Top Cover

MAG AK Waffle 100 Round Magazine Set

{simplegrade:4}
Manufacturer: MAG

MAG AK Waffle 100 round Midcaps

Pulled these in for my AK SOPMOD build. These come in a set of 5 and are 100 round capacity per magazine. Typical MAG strong springs insure smooth proper bb feeding. While these are mostly plastic in build, they are about 3/4 the weight of a TM Steel AK Lowcap.
