Manufacturer: Magpul (USA)
Type: Accessory
Magpul PTS – AFG (Angled Fore Grip) is different then a vertical fore grip as it puts your hand in a different position on the fore grip For airsoft, this device really boils down to personal preference. I’ve been using a TDI Stubby in a "Thumb Break Grip" for a while now. The AFG is more comfortable for me personally.
The Magpul AFG ships with am interchangeable finger stop and smooth grip insert.
The AFG accommodates this type of grip by design.
Here’s a comparison of the accessory aided fore grip types.
Magpul’s, Dr. Drakes description of the AFG:
The Magpul AFG puts the hand in a position called supination. Supination occurs when the hand is held with the palm facing up and the knuckles towards the ground. This puts the musculus supinator muscles in extension with most weapon movement coming from the distal radioulnar articulation. (wrist joint) With weapon articulation coming from the wrist, the muscles being in extention, and the supination muscles being stronger than pronation muscles the AFG actually reduces shooter fatigue and enhances point control like no other firearm grip on the market.
