DIGITAL Wasteland’s Staff was at it again at SHOT Show 2015!

This year we had a large crew able to attend multiple range days. This is the day before SHOT Show, where you can actually shoot many offerings from firearms manufacturers.

Any pictures or video taken outdoors were most likely at Media Day at the Range. Indoor shots or video were taken at SHOT Show. We were also fortunate to attend many industry events this year.

ECHO NiNER – Dee Lux Camera Strap

Manufacturer: ECHO NiNER
Type: Camera Gear

alt
E9 Dee Lux Camera Strap

I’ve been using the E9 Dee Lux Camera Strap daily for half a year, and it has taken the abuse without showing a sign of wear. It’s a useful and unique strap that you can trust to perform with your expensive camera. The E9 Dee Lux Strap comes in multiple colors (Black, Coyote, Multicam), has a variety of useful features, and is reasonably priced for the USA made quality you get.

alt alt

The E9 Dee Lux Strap easily mounts to the body of your camera using MilSpec 550 Parachute Cord that you loop through the camera’s sling attachment points. It’s tough, and you don’t have to worry about it coming loose.

alt

The strap itself features two DuraFlex Fasteners that allow you to quickly detach the strap from the camera if need be. The strap is also easily adjustable on the fly from lengths of 37” to 53”

alt

The strap has useful features such as the 1’’ MOLLE webbing, 1/8″ closed cell foam padding with Drilex moisture wicking lining, and a 3.9’’x2’’ section of Velcro to attach a pouch or morale patches. The Dee Lux strap is highly versatile, and can be adapted to your shooting style or needs.

alt alt

The E9 Dee Lux Camera Strap is my first choice for larger framed camera bodies that need a solid strap to safely support their weight. The extra features make it usable in a variety of situations where other straps may fall short. The different color options allow you to customize, or if you use multiple bodies at once they are a good visual indicator. The E9 Dee Lux Camera Strap is not coming off of my camera until it breaks (which will not be any time soon!).

ECHO NiNER – Original Camera Strap

Untitled Document

E9 Original Camera Strap

alt

I’ve had the opportunity to use the E9 Original Camera Strap for over a year now, and it has been one of the best straps I have ever used.  I’m not always easy on my gear, and the E9 Original Camera Strap has managed to protect and secure my camera while walking around, traversing steep cliffs, and jumping between boulders on raging rivers.

Even after a year the strap still looks as good as new, and I know it is a quality piece of gear that I can rely on.  There is absolutely no point to spend hundreds or thousands on a camera body and lens and then use the sub-par “kit” strap.  The E9 Original Camera Strap comes in multiple colors (Black, Coyote, Multicam), has a variety of useful features, and is reasonably priced for the USA made quality you get.

alt

The E9 Original Camera Strap mounts to the body of your camera using MilSpec 5-50 Parachute Cord that you loop through the camera’s sling attachment points.  It’s tough, and you don’t have to worry about it coming loose.

alt

The strap itself features two DuraFlex Fasteners that allow you to quickly detach the strap from the camera if need be.  The strap is also easily adjustable on the fly from lengths of 32” to 43”

alt

One of my favorite features of this strap is the rubberized grip material used on the inside of the strap.  This material is tacky, and securely holds your camera in place whether you are wearing a cotton t-shirt or fleece jacket.

alt

In my opinion, the E9 Original Camera Strap is one of the top straps on the market in terms of features, quality, and value.  It’s my go to choice for smaller framed camera bodies, and I have enjoyed using it so far.

Marushin – M1 Carbine 6mmBB CO2 Version

Manufacturer: Marushin (Japan)
Type: GBB

Marushin M1 Carbine 6mmBB CO2 Version

The Marushin M1 Carbine 6mmBB CO2 Version is a CO2 gas powered carbine. It fires a 6mm bb and magazine holds 15 rounds. It uses a 12 gram CO2 caplet which is carried in the magazine. A tool is included to help screw the floor plate for the CO2 caplet in place. Hop Up is adjustable and is adjusted with a supplied allen wrench.

Many thanks to our friends at Spartan Imports for supplying us this rifle for review!

Marushin M1 Carbine 6mmBB CO2 Version

The exterior build is comprised of a genuine wood stock and metal parts. The internal mechanism has metal and plastic parts. It looks to have some self lubricating plastic parts (The nozzle, etc) to compensate for the lack of lubricant in CO2 caplets as opposed to its’ green gas counterparts. The rifle with magazine weighs approximately 4.9 lbs. This is only about 1 lb lighter then the real steel version with a loaded magazine.

Marushin M1 Carbine 6mmBB CO2 Version

Performance wise, with .20 bb’s it’s in the 400 fps range. FPS is pretty consistent but due to the 12gram caplet size, gas volume when the caplet get close to empty, your FPS dramatically drops. Caplets are not a quick change item and extra magazines are not cheap and will get heavy to carry if you have a bunch.
